Kistler Tiffany Benefits Acquires Advanced Benefit Concepts & Welcomes Tom Shank as New General Agency Ancillary Manager

  • On August 20, 2020

Kistler Tiffany Benefits, a leading Employee Benefits General Agency in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey, has announced the acquisition of Advanced Benefits Concepts (ABC) located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. This strategic new partnership brings together the region’s top medical and ancillary benefits experts and will formalize an official ancillary resource and approach within Kistler Tiffany Benefits—at a time when a worldwide pandemic is transforming the expectations of both employers and employees in regard to comprehensive, holistic benefits packages.

As part of this acquisition, Tom Shank, who previously held the role of President and Owner of ABC, will assume the title of General Agency Ancillary Manager & Principal and will work closely with Kistler Tiffany Benefits’ leadership team. The current ABC staff will also join in this new venture.

This strategic initiative is the first acquisition for Kistler Tiffany Benefits since it became part of OneDigital in January 2020 and is an important new component of the General Agency’s value proposition.

“I am excited to join the Kistler Tiffany Benefits’ family for a multitude of reasons,” said ABC President and Owner, Tom Shank. “We have found partners that hold very similar values and approach as we do as a company but have also given us the runway to continue to do what we do best in terms of our ancillary strategy and approach. After so many years in the business, it is exciting to have an opportunity to build something again. The brokers that we currently work with should expect the same great team and experience now coupled with even more resources and opportunities related to compliance and technology. And I look forward to creating relationships and delivering meaningful value with Kistler Tiffany broker partners as well.”

“Tom and ABC have a long-standing history of being the Ancillary experts within our region,” said Joe Dowd, Managing Principal with Kistler Tiffany Benefits. “But this new partnership is equally about people as it is about industry expertise. Tom is a consummate professional who truly cares about his team, broker partners and clients—our approach and values are completely aligned. The team and I look forward to growing this new strategic resource with Tom’s insight and see this as a clear example of how we continue to deliver on our Expect Even More value proposition to our broker partners.”
