With the close of 2017 and 2018 beginning, the MEWA has experienced tremendous success and growth once again.

Along with your support, we have continued to prove our value as a sustainable long term solution with higher than market average retention rates.  Our clients are now joined with over 3,500 other New Jersey small to mid-size employer groups.

April Renewals

April renewals will be sent to General Agents and brokers beginning February 1st. Enrolled groups will receive renewals the week of February 5th.

Future State

We are all closely watching the Association Health Plan legislation that was just passed. We will be submitting our comments which will most favorably support our Plan, our Groups, our Members, and our Broker partners.  More to follow as this Bill takes shape.

Some upcoming systematic changes we want to make you aware of…

  • Paperless billing is coming your way.  We have begun confirming group email addresses in preparation of this enhancement.
  • Enhanced functionality from our Jet quote/enrollment system.

Other Reminders

Employer Reporting- 1094 and 1095 Forms

The distribution of the forms has begun. We anticipate this will be completed no later than Feb 2nd. If your group has not received their forms by Feb 5th, please contact us at 1-833-MEWANOW (833-639-2669).

Please remember:

  • Large Groups, with 51+ employees- We are sending a spreadsheet of data that will provide employee and dependent coverage dates and demographics.
  • Small Groups, with 50 or less employees- We are sending completed forms 1094-B and 1095-B.

Important Note Regarding Filing Deadlines

  • Distribute 1095-B or 1095-C to Employees: March 2, 2018
  • File on Paper with IRS: February 28, 2018
  • File Electronically with IRS: April 2, 2018

* Taxpayers can prepare and file their returns using other information about their health coverage. They do not have to wait for Forms 1095-B or 1095-C to file.
